I have for auction a wonderful vintage salt glaze stoneware spill vase from "Royal Doulton" England. It has been expertly crafted into a classic tapered shape which is narrow at the top rim and flares out at the base. The top part of the vase has been hand decorated in a smooth textured dark blue glaze and the bottom part has an incredibly tactile rippled effect texture decorated in a tan brown coloured glaze. It is in excellent condition with no chips, marks or cracks. It is fully marked on the base with the with the impressed shape number 7840 and the "Royal Doulton" "Lambeth" Lion above the Crown motif which dates it from about 1902 - Please see photo's. It stands 200mm high, 55mm across the top rim and 95mm across the base.
