Geo S Perriman (XX)  Watercolour.  Wells Harbour, Norfolk Signed & dated 1939 Framed & Glazed In Oak Frame Image Approx 34.5 x 24 cm 56.5 x 44 cm Framed George Stanley Perriman was born 5th January 1890 in St Phillips, Kennington, London to Andrew (Stonemason from Kingswood, Bristol) and Mary (from Beccles, Norfolk). His interest in art was already being noticed by 1910 where he was awarded for design in black-and-white whilst at Lambeth School Art Club. In 1911 he was as an Engineers Apprentice in Lambeth, but still was noted for his art. In that year’s Lambeth Art Club exhibition he was awarded for figure design and composition and also for pen and pencil sketches. By 1921 he was a Designer of illustrations for Braille publications (draughtsman) working at The National Institute for the Blind at Great Portland Street whilst living in Brixton. First married to Fanny Howard in 1926 where they lived in Hendon, London until they moved to Chertsey from 1932-1939 at 78 London Street. George was a Company Director and Air Raid warden in Chertsey. After being widowed he married Ruby Jones in 1940 living at 47 Champion Grove, London (SE5) where he continued to be a Company Director for the Commercial Studio and Printing Agency. By 1945 though they had separated and George had remarried a women named Margaret Bentley and was living in Hampstead, Camden until they then moved onto Fulham (1947-48). In 1948 he was amongst other Kensington artists who’s works appeared in the Royal Academy in Kensington. By 1953 they had moved back to Surrey, living in Guildford at 121 Stoke Road until 1960. He finally settled in Farnham at 23 Shortheath Road with his wife until her death in 1966. He died 20 Oct 1968 at Highlands Nurseries, Aveley Lane, Farnham, Surrey.
