Aldis Anastigmat F/6 No. 2 Series II Brass Lens (1908) (apparently 80° Coverage) + Trio 2X Front Group ~ with Front & Rear Lens Caps for the Anastigmat, Brass Rear Cap for the Trio 2X, & Wooden Case for the Entire Set ~ and Possible Large Format Coverage using the Trio 2X lens as Front Group Condition Note: Classsed as "Antique" (in working order with age-related wear). The visible sharp lines on the glass are actually reflections, not scratches. Please scroll down for the full picture sequence. Quite a rare combination lens set. The optics are quite nice and clean. There is no separation, no fungus noted, no haze noted, though haze is sometimes hard to tell if it's minimal. The aperture operates well with no play, albeit the blades are grimy with age. The front end of the Anastigmat F/6 No. 2 lens is interchangeable with the Trio 2X lens group. With the Trio 2X in place, the coverage definitely seems larger, around quarter plate if not more. I have projected a very nice sharp image with both front ends.  The Vademecum mentions something about 10x8in plate coverage with the Trio 2X in place but the prescribed setup for that is vague and might not refer to simply exchanging the Anastigmat F/6 No. 2's front end for the Trio 2X as front end (quote: "A f6/No2 of about 6in focus and with the pair in front covered most of a 10x8in plate but there would be a need to stop down at the edges: this suggests Aldis's claims for a wide coverage were well founded") . I can only go by what l've seen i.e. something like quarter plate coverage with the 2X in place.
