Here on offer is a rare antique Victorian figural, childs head tobacco jar, dating to the late 1800s.
This charming tobacco jar has been modelled in the form of the head of a young child with a wonderful cherubic look. The child has a well observed mischievous look about his face, he his adorned with luxurious curls, a beret on his head and a warm fur collar. The body of the jar has been left almost free of colour and has some great patina. You can see the makers finger prints on the inner surfaces.
There are no maker marks.
There is damage that occurred in manufacture and also what appears to be historic damage to the base.
The tobacco jar is being offered in good used antique condition, it measures about 10cm at the widest point, by 12.5cm.
A rare collectable piece.
Please see my pictures for the details of the condition which complement this description.
