Fine large plate or charger made in the second half of the 18th century circa 1770 by the Doccia factory, also known as Ginori after its founder Marquess Carlo Ginori in 1735. This charger is made from a hard paste porcelain and has been washed with a tin glaze and hand painted with floral sprays. While the use of a tin glaze is more commonly seen on earthenware the use of it here on porcelain was to achieve the same results of a brilliant white colour as the recipe at the time created a greyish body after firing. Measures 29cm in diameter. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Some minor age related surface scratches, stilt marks to the base.
