Antique pair of English Bentwood Fireside Chairs - Distressed & Unrestored.
Pair of beautiful distressed "Art Deco" English bentwood fireside armchairs on their original castors, likely built between 1920 and 1935.
See photos. Sold unrestored and in original distressed condition. (The photos try to represent their condition but please expect the chairs to have other issues not shown in photos). Although unrestored and dilapidated, they have been in the previous owners care for the past 50+ years - being of great sentimental value.
They are actually from the original owner's neice who remembers sitting on them in her aunt's house in the 1950s as a young girl!
Can be used as is, or restored to suit. I think they are fabulous and felt it best to allow new owner the choices of, if and how to restore.
Some dying of the fabric and light TLC is recommended. Castors have surface rust and I have left them unrestored. (Please let me know if you would like them to be restored/painted etc free of cost)
Or alternatively they could be reupholstered. So much is their potential.
The seats can be easily broken down by removing the screws to disassemble in minutes. They can be transported/collected either in assembled or disassembled state.
Can potentially organise a courier to many places, circa £80. But please message first for confirmation of this and an accurate timescale.
Otherwise collection from a few miles south of Cambridge please. Happy to deliver locally free of charge.
