Here on offer is a great antique early Victorian pewte r 1 quart tankard or measuring jug , partially touchmarked.

This wonderful pewter balaster tankard style measuring jug has no makers touchmark visible, only the embossed 1 QUART giving the quantity or unit of measure. There are a number of Customs marks made periodically to check the validity of the measure. The jug has a stepped foot, a group of decorative ribbed rings about the belly and a shaped looped handle.

 

The jug is offered in used antique condition, with some dents as you would expect with antique pewter, it also has a historic repair to the base. Please study the photos. It measures about 16cm by 17cm at the widest point and weighs 738g.

 

A wonderful addition for a collector.
