From a Book/Folio. Presents to the Poor - Lady Bountiful' - 1890s. 9"x 6". An original etching by Macbeth signed in the plate with his monogram as published in the Magazine of Art. Robert Walker Macbeth,1848-1910,painted contemporary scenes of rural and fishing communities under the influence of Pinwell,Walker & Mason. He was the son of Norman Macbeth the Portrait painter and the brother of Henry Raeburn Macbeth. He studied at the Royal Scottish Academy School and first submitted at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1867. He then moved to London to work as an illustrator for 'The Graphic' and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1873-1904.He was also an accomplished etcher often working with his friend the famous printer Frederick Goulding. At present he is - THE ROYAL ACADEMY'S - ARTIST OF THE MONTH - FEBRUARY 2012 - Pristine Condition.
