The site is situated between the historic cities of Angouleme and Perigueux, with their amazing cathedrals and ancient fortified city centres, many restaurants and bars, “for the shopaholics” plenty of designer shops, large hypermarkets, museums and art galleries
There are numerous activities to enjoy
Karting - there is an excellent international track a short drive from the site, during the high season it has now become a regular feature and very competitive!
Canoeing - from Brantome and Bourdeilles, a lovely way to see the countryside and to keep cool, with a number of weirs to navigate.
Golfing - the owner of the site is always happy to advise and organise golfing days
Fishing - The owner of the van is a keen angler and would be happy to “talk fishing”
Velo Rail - a good day out, but can be strenuous!
There is a large concentration of World Heritage prehistoric sites with The Prehistory Welcome Centre an ideal start and many caves dotted across the region
Parks and Gardens - Les Jardins de L’Imaginaire, Les Jardins Panoramiques de Limeuil , Jardins de Marqueyssac are but a few to mention, they are all stunning and well worth a visit
Chateaux - The Dordogne has more chateaux in one region than any other in France, Le Chateau de Hautefort is meticulous in maintaining the rooms as if they were still being lived in, the Chateau Mareuil at the other end of scale is owned by the Baron who is happy to take you on a tour himself amongst the ruin of what once was a beautiful chateau, all are worth a trip.
Medieval towns of the area are waiting to be explored and during the year numerous Fetes Medieval, Concerts, Marches Gourmands and Brocantes are held

The Owners An English couple who have used the van as a base to explore Europe. Initially staying on the site in their touring van, decided it was ideally placed and sited their Mobile Home in 2008. Staying on site for the summer and wintering in Spain, Portugal and Italy
Why if it is as good as we describe, do we want to sell our Van
Only one good reason we love it so much we have decided to make this our permanent home and to live and work in the area
Airports - Limoges, Bergerac, Bordeaux are the main airports, although during the high season Ryanair has flown out of Angouleme, always good for a look.
Trains - SNCF - Angouleme and Perigueux
Drive - The owners use the toll roads, Poitier, Tours, Le Man, Cann this is about 5 and half hours and take Brittany Ferries to Portsmouth

The owners used the van from April to December and the electric bill was 288€ and water 95€, gas we buy as we go roughtly 1 every 6wk or so
A contract will be signed with the site owners on purchase
sub letting is allowed (although we have never done this)
