Please note; I shall not be able to send this item before Monday 27th October.
An unsigned mid 18th century thirty hour posted frame longcase clock movement with 11” brass dial and two hands.
Fine dial with good crisply cut hands still with old bluing intact.
The dial centre has a nicely engraved coastal scene showing houses overlooking a bay with a 3 mast sailing ship putting out to sea.
Good quality well-made posted frame movement. The going train is of the 4 wheel type with a centre wheel and pinion that carries the minute hand.
Good resonant original bell
The dial is original to the movement.
The clock is unsigned however I believe the clock originates from the south west of England. I have seen a number of movements with dial centres engraved with a ‘Home and Away’ theme scene from that region.

At the top of the images below I have included 2 short videos to give you an idea of how the mechanism runs. Please allow the videos load before playing them through.
Condition.
The movement is complete and in excellent clean condition.
The wheel trains turn smoothly and the escapement trips well with minimal drop.
There is a minimal wear to the strike train pinions. There is a bit more wear on the going train pinions but there is still plenty of life left in them yet.
Original pulley and counter weight with chain present.
No weight or pendulum.
