This clock is a fine early example of a Seth Thomas & Sons mantle clock. The case shows a figural man and women standing next to a palm tree with the clock at the center. The case is made of pot metal and retains it's original gold finish with is worn beautifully with age. The porcelain dial is marked, has some chips around the winding holes as the dial doesn't quite seem to line up quite right (looks to be missing a screw to hold it in). The base is made of stone, and has one small chip on the left side.
The mechanism is a standard 8 day time & strike movement. Includes pendulum but no key
In our preliminary evaluation the mainsprings are good but the movement would not run. We offer all of our clocks as-is for use as decorative objects only. Functionality can not be guaranteed.
Measurements: 16"L x 6"W x 17"H.
