A really nice sounding and easy to play Hohner Headless Jack Bass from 1991 having a PJ pickup arrangement and a bolt on neck which has the advantage over through necks of being able to be shimmed if the neck angle, or action is not to the players liking something which is not possible on a through neck instrument.
Passive version, so no batteries to worry about.
Nut width is 38mm and the string spacing at the bridge is 19mm.
Action is low all the way up the 24 fret, double octave Rosewood fingerboard.
There are various small marks / dings but nothing serious that affects the playability and far fewer than you would expect to see on a 30 + year old instrument.
The pickups have been upgraded with new Wilkinson Varigauss P & J pickups.
Controls are Volume / Volume / Master Tone. The original pots and loom have been upgraded to an excellent Professional Kiogon solderless connections jobbie, which includes a Switchcraft barrel jack as the original ones are a known weak spot on these.
Weight is a shoulder friendly 7.95lbs and it has zero neck dive.
Tuning is via the original Licensed by Steinberger Bridge, the tuners turn freely & seem to keep it in tune forever - ‘ish’
Truss Rod is operational & holds the correct amount of neck relief.
Californian Solid Maple body & neck with a beautifully figured Indian Rosewood fingerboard.
Collection preferred, but if you are too far away from sunny North Staffordshire, I can package it well for posting to the U.K. Mainland only - sorry.
