HUGE ANTIQUE FRENCH ART NOUVEAU GLASS VASE c1900 Signed DAUM NANCY TWIN HANDLES
After 50 years of collecting ART GLASS , I can honestly say this is one of the best pieces I have ever seen.
Offered here is a FRENCH ART GLASS VASE made in circa 1900.
Unusually this is signed on the FOOT of the VASE this reads DAUM NANCY FRANCE . There is also a figure one or a cross mark , before the word France.
The body of the vase itself is signed as part of the decoration as mentioned and the colouring of the glass is superb.
The glass colours are fabulous , there is a vibrant orange interspersed with an equally vibrant yellow .
The shape and twin handles are a classic design .
The piece stands over 13 inches tall and is fabulous.
There is some damage to the base I am afraid and a crack runs up the side to one of the handles. If this was perfect I believe it would make many thousands of pounds.
I have owned this since the 70s where I bought it in a fleamarket in Paris France but it is time for it to move on now.
THIS REALLY IS A SUPERB INDIVIDUAL PIECE OF FRENCH ART GLASS. If it had been perfect it would have been museum quality.
It is a substantial and extremely impactive piece.
