Late Victorian Booths Plate
Decorated with their 'Indian Ornament' design which had clearly been influenced by the abstract,
stylized motifs of Persian Iznik ceramics which chimed with the artistic tastes of the
Aesthetic Art Movement highly fashionable in the 1880's & 1890's
The earthenware body has a slightly upturned rim. The whole has been decorated with a dense and
complex radiating pattern in two shades of underglaze blue.
'T.G. & F.B.' factory marks printed on base date the plate to between 1883 & 1891
Accompanied by an 'Ironstone' impress mark
13 plates 5 at 10 half inch and 8 at 9 quarter inch
