The circular dial has just been re silvered by the original silvering salts which they used when it was made .
The Movement is 8 days striking on a bell and it is all original and clean to the circular dial.
The dial has a second hand aperture and a date aperture and they both are fully working .
The Hood has the latch and lock inside that is on the case and the Glass door has a brass bezel and is original with the latch .
The case is a very nice dark flamed mahogany with black stringing inlay and very nice columns on the side .The door has a working lock and key .Comes complete with weights and pendulum and winding key.
William Young is a very well known maker and is listed as one of the top makers in Scotland .He is registered between 1805 and 1848 and his work place was High Street Dundee between 1805 and 1843 he then moved to 10 Murrygate in 1845 and his home was 23 Union Street .He then was succeeded by John Young probably his son .William young was renowned and listed for using the best Mahogany cases with Ornate borders .
