Adams Rotrax Ford Based Buggy
This listing is
for a real piece of motoring history - an Adams Rotrax Buggy. This design is the predecessor of the
Dakar (which retained and then enlarged the classic body design, is still in
production today based on Range Rover running gear and famously connected with
the Challenge Aneka TV programme) this Adams features Ford running gear and two wheel drive. Built on a space frame
tubular steel chassis with a lightweight fibre glass
double skinned body this Rotrax is in very
original condition. The external bodywork is in very good condition, still in the original gel-coat black and yellow finish, faded in places from the sun but significantly, it has
never been painted. Internally, the 'seating tub' is in orange/red, also in very good condition, in original gel-coat and never been painted.
This is a road prepared vehicle, first registered on 1/3/79 and is a 'T' reg, identified as an Adams Rotrax on the V5c, currently registered in my name and on SORN. Chassis number RTX39 (39th built?) on both the bulkhead and the V5c. Revenue weight on the V5c is 3499kg gross. Kerb weight thought to be in the region of 900kg although cannot be guaranteed. It is fitted with a Ford Pinto 1993cc (2litre) petrol engine which starts readily and the vehicle has a current UK MOT valid until April 2012.
Features five (5) 'weller' white spoked wheel rims with whitewall tyres, removable yellow hood and fibreglass doors. Indicated mileage (which is not confirmed) is 10924.
