Grundig Weltklang vintage classic car radio, these are great sounding radios and the period design is second to none, i will be sorry to see this go.

NOTE: 2x wavebands lw/mw

Hello, my name is steve and I have been a radio collector & enthusiast for the past 30 years, i got this interest from my Dad who was an electronic engineer with Baird & BAC and from Grandad who was an auto electrician with VW.

In my time I have collected ghetto blasters – car radios – portable radios – sharp equipment & hifi, but I have at times realised that my obsession cant go on indefinitely, the ghetto blasters had to go when I last moved house and thinking ahead now my vast collection of vintage car radios has to find a good new home. As a collector – enthusiast I spend too much money and too much time getting things that I ‘need’ in my collection and making them museum quality when I get them in order to feature on Radiomuseum which I am a member of.

If you buy a radio from me then it might well have had 4 or 5 hours  (or more) spent on restoring it, or it might have been perfect when I found it, however you can trust that it will be of great quality otherwise I would not have kept it in my collection. I really enjoy the fact that I am returning my radios back to regular life in suitable period vehicles, so I really don’t mind answering any questions and helping where I can, although I am not a car expert but I do know about radios. I do work full time and this is just my hobby so my answers my often be delayed a while.

Basics explained: in the UK we were stuck with Medium Wave & Long Wave through the 70s so people remember brands like radiomobile and lucas, this makes FM (still very useable in present day) more rare than MW sets. Mono was the standard also in this period, making 2 speaker or stereo really very rare, 4 speaker or quad developed in the early 80s. radio cassette players were introduced in the early 70s when Philips invented the concept, like records cassettes are now growing in popularity. I am a purist so I will not physically alter an original radio and I restore with only original parts, however I do add an original external input 3.5mm cable because I know owners do like this, some owners have asked for coloured backlighting or wiring connectors etc that they might need when installing and I can also help with this. I do send a free Bluetooth receiver unit for wireless connection if you need it, (I would rather not answer questions on this, it is what it is).

This is my hobby with limited time and resources so please bare with me and understand any boxes or packaging I use will be recycled but packaged as I would expect to receive it if it were me. Having had some bad experiences with people taking advantage of me, I do security mark and seal my radios prior to sending.
