of Crystal Beads

SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.
There are a number of fake crystal beads listings on eBay, here are
a few keys to identify the fake crystal beads:
- False / no details given. Eg: no article number such as #5328.
- Used the Swan Logo which is highly misleading since the loose
crystal beads are not produced under the SWAROVSKI brand but SWAROVSKI
ELEMENTS.
- Incorrect / generic color names used. Eg: red, pink, blue,
green etc. It should be Light Siam, Sapphire, Peridot, etc.
- Some crystal articles are massively flooded with fake crystals.
Eg: 5301 (replaced by 5328), 5000, 5040, 6202 (replaced by 6228), etc.
So be extra careful when buying these articles.
- Pictures shown with incorrect shapes. Eg: Some #5754 with middle-part
protruded which aren't the original shape.
- Photos shown crystals strung in a line. Crystal Beads from
Swarovski Elements are loose beads in a box, usually larger beads at
sizes more than 6mm will be fixed in a case. They never come in strung-line
except article 5810 (Pearls).
- Geographical - mostly fake crystal beads come from a few Asian
countries, especially China/Hong Kong. It's not fair to label them as
fake crystal bead sellers (there are actually a few genuine crystal
bead sellers), just pay extra attention when dealing with sellers from
these countries.
- A final piece of advice: When the deal is too good to be true
(extra LOW Buy-Now price at big quantity), then probably it is. Fake
crystals are exceptionally cheap, therefore the only sensible way for
fake crystal sellers to promote their items is sell as fast as possible,
i.e. compete with high quantity and low price. Buyers usually couldn't
resist the super bargains, but a red flag should be raised at this point.
Buying fake crystal beads equals to buying worthless items. They worth
perhaps only 1/100th the value of the original crystal beads.
How
to avoid buying the fake crystal beads?
- Ask the sellers any questions. Usually SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS sellers
know the ins and outs of the shapes, colors, new series, etc.
- Feel free to request for original box if buying in big quantity. Say
5328 4mm comes in 1,440 pcs, while 6704 20mm comes in 48 pcs per box.
Feel free to ask for a box if buying at least half the quantity, usually
the sellers are more than happy to send you the original boxes.
